A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motorcycle following an incident in Steventon.
A man visited the Harley-Davidson garage, in Hanney Road, with another man and asked to take a red Harley-Davidson Fat Bob for a test ride.
The man took the bike out, leaving his friend behind at the garage. While out on his test ride, at about 3pm he contacted the garage to say that he was lost and while out searching for directions he lost the key fob and the bike was stolen.
PC Jon Axford said: “I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen the man out on the bike. He spent about an hour riding around the Abingdon area on what is a very distinctive bike.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may know anything about the bike’s whereabouts and what happened to it after it was reported stolen.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Jon Axford via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
