HUNDREDS of people marched through Oxford to celebrate the seventh interfaith friendship walk.
Jews, Muslims, Hiindus Christians, Buddhists and Sikhs, as well as people from minority faith groups and those of no faith, walked together in solidarity on Monday night.
Religious leaders from all the main faith groups, including the Bishop of Oxford, the Right Rev John Pritchard, walked at the head of the procession.
The walk went from the Oxford Synagogue, in Jericho, to the University Church of St Mary the Virgin in High Street before finishing with a buffet of food from different cultures and religious traditions at the Oxford Central Mosque, in Manzil Way, off Cowley Road.
Bishop John said: “This has become an established event in Oxford that unites people of all faiths and none.
“I was delighted to join the walk once again this year and get the opportunity to demonstrate publicly the unity between faith groups in this city."
Adele Moss, from the Oxford Synagogue, said: “We are all members of the same community, working towards the same goal — goodwill, empathy and understanding between people of all faiths and none.”
