The future of Banbury's Horton Hospital was finally secured at a meeting this afternoon.
Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals Trust (ORH) has pledged to pay the extra £900,000 needed to pay for 24/7 consultant led children’s and maternity services at the Oxford Road hospital.
The move follows a seven-year campaign by local people to save maternity and 24/7 paediatric services at the hospital.
George Parish, who led the Save the Horton Campaign, said: “I’m floating — I feel absolutely high in the air."
