POLICE were called early yesterday morning to tackle a fight outside the Oxford Greyhound Stadium.
Residents in Sandy Lane, in Cowley, claim they were woken up just after 5am by scores of people shouting and fighting with knives, sticks and bricks in the street.
Several cars were damaged during the night, neighbours told the Oxford Mail.
A late-night party had been held at the stadium and the incident happened after revellers left the venue.
Thames Valley Police confirmed they were called at 5.20am and attended the incident within nine minutes.
A spokesman added: “We were called to reports of people fighting with sticks and bricks being thrown and knives.
“This is an ongoing complaint. The incident has been passed on to the Neighbourhood Policing team which will investigate.”
One resident, who did not wish to be named, said she could hear fighting and swearing and several neighbours’ cars had been damaged.
She said: “When you have been hard at work all week, the last thing you want is to be woken up at 5am on a Sunday.
“They were pulling things out of a skip and throwing them at each other and chasing each other with knives.”
Another resident added: “It won’t be long before we come out here one morning and find someone who has been stabbed lying on the floor.”
No-one from the stadium was available for comment last night.
