A GENTEEL June afternoon of tea and entertainment in Witney will raise money for a charity.
Guests are being invited to enjoy an afternoon tea at the Langdale Hall, in the Market Square, on Sunday, June 27, from 3pm to 5.30pm, sipping tea from china cups and nibbling cucumber sandwiches and delicious homemade cakes.
They will also be entertained with a mini fashion show and musical entertainment, in aid of the Abingdon charity, Against Breast Cancer.
“Afternoon tea is a lovely tradition, and it is something that everyone enjoys,” said Jeanne Chattoe, chairman of the Witney Action Group of Against Breast Cancer, who is organising the event with Kathy Dunn, landlady of the New Inn.
The fashion show will showcase clothes from Eve, Harpers, Renaissance and Cotswold Kids, all in Witney, and from Monaco of Headington. Laughing Stock of Witney will also be there, and there will be trade stalls to browse, plus a raffle.
Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children, which includes tea, sandwiches and cakes, and they are available from Renaissance, Wesley Walk, Witney, or by e-mailing witneyinthepink@hotmail.com
