I WAS very intrigued by the letters by Mick Heavey and G Husband concerning foxes in Wednesday’s Oxford Mail.
Why not widen the spectrum and eliminate those other pests we have in plentiful supply around here – namely squirrels and magpies.
We get a lot of foxes trotting down our road and have had them in our garden, the surrounding fields being an ideal habitat.
There was also one found in our local scout hut in Boults Lane, but apparently it was only interested in joining the cubs.
The calls for prosecution and prison sentences, as mooted by Mick, are sure to be given the brush-off.
Squirrels are also in need of being sorted out. In the winter it becomes a war of attrition between them and me when I try to feed the birds.
Magpies are aggressive and spiteful. They attack all the other little birds for no reason. As an Oxford United fan I wish they would send them all back to Newcastle United.
