A FUNDRAISING champion raised £5,000 for local charities after walking 80 miles around Wantage in a day.
Ray Collins, 40, battled the heat and blisters to tackle a 40-mile course around the town twice.
Mr Collins, of Springfield Road, Wantage, started the challenge at his gym, tfd health & fitness club, in Grove Technology Park, at midday on Friday and finished in the market square at 12.30pm the next day.
He was joined by friends and supporters along the way, who collected money for Grove Day Centre, Charlton Centre and Wantage October Club.
It is the fifth year he has completed a marathon challenge.
Last year he did four indoor triathlons in a row and he has also done a 24-hour gym workout.
