Catholic worshippers took part in the annual Corpus Christi procession through Oxford.
Priests led the walk yesterday from the Oratory Church, in Woodstock Road, to Blackfriars, in St Giles, for a sermon.
There was then a benediction at the Old Palace. Oratory parish priest Father Daniel Seward said: “It was great. There was a very big turnout.
“It’s an important day for Catholics in the city. Everyone joins together for what is a very unifying event.”
The festival of Corpus Christi celebrates the Eucharist as the body of Christ.
Consecrated wafer, used in communion, is carried through the streets to show the sacrifice of Christ was for the salvation of the world.
