THE girls in the first picture were confirmed by the Bishop of Dorchester, the Rt Rev DG Loveday, at the 14th century St Andrew’s Church in 1970. The Bishop is pictured at the back flanked by the Rev AST Fisher, Vicar of Westwell, and the Rev R Morgan, Rector of Kingham.
The second picture dates from 1962, when repairs were being carried out to the church roof, which was leaking. Mr WB Guy, left, and Mr T Brookes are seen carrying out the work.
In the third picture, the Lainchbury family, who ran an engineering business in the village, look as if they are holding a board meeting. Sitting, from left, are Arthur, Ernest and Charles, with David standing behind.
