TWO Oxfordshire man are facing jail after being convicted of taking part in a violent brawl between rival soccer fans.
At the end of a four-day trial at Gloucester Crown Court, a jury convicted Dale Bowman, 36, of Compton Drive, and Christopher Williams, 34, of Spruce Gardens, Oxford, of violent disorder.
Bowman has a previous conviction for an identical offence in 1992, while Williams was given a three-year football banning order in 2004 for a public disorder offence.
Both denied being involved in rioting at the Moon under the Water pub in Cheltenham on February 7 last year.
United fans got involved in a skirmish with Cheltenham Town fans after a match against Kettering at Wellingborough was cancelled. Furniture, bottles and glasses were thrown across the pub in a 10-minute brawl described by the prosecution as like something out of a Wild West film.
Judge Martin Picton bailed both men for pre-sentence reports.
They will be sentenced with a group of other men who have pleaded guilty to their parts in the violence.
