Some readers said drivers should use park-and-ride services into the city as a way of saving money.
Jamesp, from Oxford, said: “There are so many buses into and out of Oxford, that you really don’t need to drive.
“The bus from the park-and-rides will be just as quick as driving, as they get bus lanes for most of the way, and go right to the centre, rather than being diverted by the traffic system.
“You don’t avoid going to London because you can’t park on Oxford Street, do you?
“It is lazy and expensive to drive into Oxford, and it is always the same argument, so do yourselves a favour and catch the bus, or cycle.”
