A GREAT grandmother celebrated her 103rd birthday with coffee and cake at a Didcot care home.
Justina Evans is the oldest resident at The Meadows, in Britwell Road, and she reached the milestone on Wednesday.
Lynn Owens, care leader at the Bluebell Unit of the home, organised the party with care leader Trudy Meardon.
She said: “We had a party in the morning in the home with the rest of the residents and she is having another one on Sunday with all her family.
“She had a coffee morning and little things like that in the afternoon. The chef always makes a cake for whoever’s birthday it is.
“She got lots of cards and we decorated the sitting area with banners and balloons.
“We do celebrate every birthday but because Justina was 103 we thought we would do a little bit extra.”
She said Mrs Evans was a “marvellous” character arou-nd the home and enjoyed the party.
She added: “She is still really chatty and she likes to read a lot.”
Mrs Evans, originally from Llanelli in South Wales, has lived in the home for eight years now.
She has two daughters, one son, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
