RESIDENTS have been given a sneak preview of what a former US air base could look like if its owner gets planning approval.
Dorchester Group bought the former base at Upper Heyford from North Oxfordshire Consortium last August, in a multi-million pound deal.
This week residents had a chance to view plans of how the 1,231-acre site will be developed.
Among proposals are 1,075 homes, a pub and restaurant, shops and a primary school.
Some base buildings will berefurbished and business units could also be given a facelift.
A heritage centre will also be built at the former Cold War base.
Dorchester Group is ironing out details with Cherwell District Council planners and English Heritage, and hopes to submit the plan in the summer.
A decision could be made as early as December.
