A PIONEERING art project could raise £100,000 for bursaries when Culham’s European School transforms into an academy.
Wilfred Rimensberger has invited artists from across Europe to put works on display to help raise money to secure the school’s future.
The 835-pupil school is subsidised by the EU.
But with Europe set to withdraw its subsidy by 2017, it is planning to turn into a state-funded academy, allowing it to continue being the only school in the UK teaching the European Baccalaureate.
Now Mr Rimensberger has invited artists to donate work to a new exhibition in the Long Room Gallery at New College, Oxford, to raise money for an endowment fund to help future students study at the academy.
Europa – The Woman, which features works from across Europe, runs until May 30. It is then set to tour across Europe.
