BRAINBOXES from an Oxford holiday company pitted their wits against some of the cleverest people on television.
Six colleagues from Holiday Lettings, in Banbury Road, appeared on BBC2’s show Eggheads, taking on a team of quiz experts who pride themselves on being almost impossible to beat.
And sadly, for the defeated team from Oxford, their boast turned out to be true.
Customer services manager Rory Constant, 27, applied to enter, and was joined by Angele Badin, 26, David Dixon, 29, Kate Humphrey, 28, Rachel McCombie, 24, and Tabitha Wilson, 23 on Friday’s show.
The team called themselves the Two O’clock Club, after their preferred lunch hour. Ms McCombie said: “We all had a brilliant time, although it was quite surreal and nerve-wracking. We couldn’t believe how much make-up they put on us – even the boys.”
