THE couple who have just become proud parents of sextuplets at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital have been named as Vicky and Andy Lamb, from Abingdon.
It is understood the couple, who have a five-year-old daughter, Gracie, conceived after taking the fertility drug Clomid.
The four girls and two boys, who were born 14 weeks early on May 14, are in the neonatal intensive care unit and weighed between 590g and 880g (1.3-1.9lbs).
Publicist Max Clifford, who is representing the family, said in an interview with GMTV today: “It is a critical time. They are in the John Radcliffe Hospital and they have a superb team there.
“Andy and Vicky are incredibly grateful they are being so well looked after.
“They are hoping and praying everything is going to be okay, but they realise they are praying for a small miracle.”
Mr Clifford believed the Lambs had chosen names for the babies and hoped to visit them this weekend if their health allowed.
Medical staff at the JR spent weeks planning the delivery and a large team of doctors and nurses were involved in the delivery, which took place via caesarean section.
Just one in 4.5 million births results in sextuplets.
