A major redevelopment of an industrial estate is attracting a broad range of occupiers. The Crendon Industrial Park at Long Crendon, near Thame, has seen £5m worth of new units constructed, while there has also been a £350,000 refurbishment of buildings at Hikers Way.
The new-build comprises a scheme of 11 industrial/warehouse units totalling approximately 80,000 sq ft.
Nine units have been let or sold with two remaining providing from 4,240 to 9,000 sq ft of accommodation.
The most recent occupiers to move in are haberdashery and needlecraft company Groves & Banks, who have taken a 15,500 sq ft unit as part of a major expansion, and ventilation and air conditioning firm SK (Sales) recently acquired a 4,240 sq ft unit, having relocated from Milton Common.
Meanwhile, on Hikers Way, the refurbishment programme has included recladding of all elevations, an overhaul of the roofs and internal repair and redecoration.
Site owners the Crendon Industrial Partnership has now let four out of the five buildings with the fifth under offer.
Occupiers include Marquees and Pavilions, forklift truck and material handling equipment firm Atlet and lorry-loading cranes firm Cranes Limited.
Martin Conway of Oxford-based agent Marriotts said: “We have seen a good level of demand for accommodation at Crendon Industrial Park with uptake of new, refurbished and second hand accommodation.
“This is just part of a rolling programme with the refurbishment of the Crendon House office building due to start this summer.”
The estate as a whole totals approximately 450,000 sq ft of warehousing, distribution, industrial and office floorspace.
A range of further opportunities are available at Crendon, including short-term secondhand lets, and opportunities to provide new purpose- built facilities of up to 30,000 sq ft to meet specific occupiers’ requirements.
