Sir – I occasionally drive down Rawlinson Road to cross between the Banbury and Woodstock Roads. A few months ago a beautiful maintenance job was done to the footpaths and entrances to the houses in Rawlinson Road.
To avoid the roadworks caused by the new gas pipes being laid along the Woodstock Road, I have been using other cross routes. Naively I expected to see that other roads had been graced by similar maintenance work, but nothing.
Rawlinson Road does not have a heavy footfall certainly compared to Belbroughton, Linton and Bardwell Roads.
Many children use these roads to walk to the schools or to the popular church in Linton Road.
The pavements are in a mess, the road surfaces are pot-holed and yet no maintenenance work has occurred. So why Rawlinson Road’s priority?
How are road maintenance priorities assessed, can anyone enlighten us?
