THE Oxford Mail is launching a new search for Oxfordshire’s bonniest baby or toddler.

We have teamed up with Debenhams and Fraser Photography for this year’s Baby of the Year competition.

Last time, more than 800 tots and toddlers took part before Mason Bailey May, of Great Close Road, Yarnton, was crowned Oxford Mail Baby of the Year 2007.

Oxford Mail promotions manager Jo Coady said: “When we’ve run this before, we have had an amazing response from the public, with people queuing to get their sons or daughters' pictures taken.”

The contest is open to children aged up to three years old, with three different categories. A special entry form will be printed in the paper on Tuesday, June 1, which parents or guardians must take along to the childrenswear section of the Oxford branch of Debenhams in Magdalen Street.

Fraser Photography will be setting up shop from 10am to 4pm from June 1 to Saturday, June 5, and every tot’s photograph will be featured in the Oxford Mail for readers to pick their favourite.

A winner will be chosen in each category: 0 to nine months, 10 to 18 months and 19 to 36 months, based on the number of votes, which can be cast by text message or phone.

Winners will receive a framed photo and Debenhams vouchers.
