TWO children walked barefoot for three hours to raise money for a playbench for their school.
Witney Primary School pupils Hayley Morgan and Sophie Anderson, both 11, came up with the idea of the sponsored barefoot walk around Witney and Hailey.
They collected £400, enough to buy a playbench for the outdoor play area.
The playbench has three games on the top for children to use during breaktimes.
Sophie, who has now moved on to Wood Green Secondary School, Witney, said: “We wanted to say thank you for teaching us here. It’s a very friendly school and they treat you really well.”
She said her two younger sisters still attend the school and would be able to use the playbench.
The girls did the walk last June.
Hayley said: “I feel very proud of it and I hope to see my friends playing round it.”
Headteacher Jill Meyer said: “I’m very proud of them.”
