SCHOOLCHILDREN dined out in style as they turned food critics for the day.
The 26 Year Five and Year Six pupils from St Ebbe’s Primary School, in Whitehouse Road, Oxford, enjoyed a three-course meal at the Door 74 restaurant, in Cowley Road, on Tuesday, as part of a project called Cooking with Words.
They will write reviews of the meal for a Guild of Food Writers competition.
Bruno praised the penne with smoked salmon, which he said had “lots of texture”.
He said his waffles had “an amazing layout” and added: “There’s lots to write about when you have nice food.”
Teacher Geerthi Ahilan said: “There were children who had been to quite a few restaurants, and some who hadn’t.
“It was brilliant, and I got a real impression that the children were sharing food and talking about it.”
