Townsfolk in Witney are undoubtedly proud the new Prime Minister comes from their patch.
The Oxford Mail today goes into more detail about David Cameron’s impressive rise to power.
It does, however, leave a rather obvious question.
What kind of service will local people now get from their MP?
How much time and energy could possibly be given to casework now Mr Cameron is in Number 10?
Even as Tory leader, the West Oxfordshire parliamentarian was a regular face around the towns and villages. He did not shirk local problems.
Now he must face the same dilemma as his predecessors., striking a balance and ensuring the needs of West Oxfordshire, as well as the nation, are met.
We wish him well.
