I am a long-time customer of Figments shop in Witney and was devastated when I heard the news about the fire which spread through to this lovely shop.
I have visited the owner, Alison Edgington, and seen the destruction that the fire and the water has done to her stock.
At one point, we put on special masks so we could start to clear the stock and see what could be salvaged. We both saw what damage smoke can do, without the item being burned.
Maybe justice could be better served if the offender, however young he or she might be, could have been alongside us clearing the place.
I am sure it would bring home to some petty criminals the effect their actions have had on their victims.
Like the Phoenix, Figments will rise again from the ashes.
I am sure I am joined by many friends and customers, who will miss them while they are getting themselves back on track.
