The police Faringdon East Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG) is inviting people to come along to a community safety event at Stanford in the Vale village hall tomorrow.

Between 1pm and 3.30pm there will be a consultation to decide upon a new policing priority for the area. Residents will be able to discuss what has been happening with the current three priorities for the area; speeding, anti-social behaviour and road safety.

Other organisations that will be attending include; Anchor Staying Put, trading standards, first responders ambulance service and Neighbourhood Watch.

The local policing team will also be out in the morning at St Denys church between 10am and 12.30pm. They will be giving out property marking kits and listening to the concerns of local residents. Vulnerable members of the community will be identified before the day to ensure they either come along or are given advice by some of the exhibitors there.

Alison Smith, Crime Prevention Advisor for Wantage and Faringdon said: “I would encourage everyone to come along on the day to pick up a free property marking kit and get advice from the different organisations that will be at the hall.

"Although the crime rate in the area is very low we would like to reduce it further and make sure that vulnerable residents feel safe.

“If residents of Wantage and Faringdon cannot attend on the day please contact me for crime reduction advice and a free property marking kit.”
