Police are appealing for witnesses after a girl was assaulted in Banbury yesterday evening.
The 17-year-old was walking along Salt Way from the direction of Broughton Road towards the Bloxham Road at about 4.30pm when the incident happened.
As she was walking along the road she was approached by four men, aged between 19 and 20, who pushed her to the floor and kicked her in the head and body.
The victim has sustained bruising over one of her eyes, cuts and grazing to her body and arms.
One of the men was wearing navy tracksuit bottoms with a thick white stripe down each leg and another was wearing black tracksuit bottoms. All four wore hooded tops with the hoods up and white trainers.
After the assault, they ran off in the direction of Broughton Road.
PC Nic Lewis said: “The girl has been left shaken by what has happened to her and we are urging anyone with information about this nasty assault to come forward and speak with us as soon as possible.
“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident, or who may have information about this assault.
“Did you see a group of men matching this description in the area? Did you see where they went?”
