WORKERS at the Nuffield Organisation at Cowley enjoyed a good social life.
They would spend their working day helping to publicise and market Cowley-built cars.
Then after work, they could relax at the Morris Motors’ clubhouse in Crescent Road, where all sorts of sporting and leisure activities took place.
These pictures were taken at a dinner, probably in the 1950s.
They come from a collection belonging to George Springall, of Staunton Road, Headington, who was head of technical publications.
He and his wife Barbara are on the left in the first picture and at the head of the table in the second picture.
Does anyone recognise any of the other diners? Let us know.
