IT wouldn’t be a proper election without them, and the Monster Raving Loony Party was seeking votes in Witney yesterday.
Supporters Ken Hanks and George Ridgeon were on hand to lend their support to party leader Alan “Howling Laud” Hope — who is contesting the Witney seat against Conservative Party leader David Cameron.
Among the party’s policies is the introduction of a 99p coin.
Mr Hope called in at the Red Lion pub, in Corn Street. He said: “I keep hearing Mr Cameron say a vote for the Tories is a vote for hope. It’s very nice of him to endorse me like that.”
