Sir, Apart from the common objections to the proposed charge for parking permits, the council has not considered the issue of residents being encouraged to convert their front gardens to parking spaces to avoid the charge.
In flood areas this is deemed to significantly raise the risk due to rapid run-off. If the county has any policies related to limiting flood risk this proposed charge may counter them. This does not look like good joined-up government!
