Sir, The argument concerning students jumping off Magdalen Bridge seems to continue. Surely there is a positive, and I believe, a reasonable solution to this. It should be possible to get all Oxford colleges to agree that any undergraduate or graduate student caught jumping off the bridge is sent down immediately not rusticated, but sent down permanently.
Also if any injuries are sustained they must be expected to meet the cost of any treatment themselves. It should be reasonably easy to make this very clear to all students to understand that this is a positive University and college rule.
I am not sure how you deal with Brookes University students, but the same should apply to them too. Also, ban all photographers from the bridge and vicinity, although a police photographer may be necessary!
