Sir, At the moment one hears and reads of nothing but complaints about the National Health Service.

There is however a positive side to it which I have experienced. I was recently hospitalized for several weeks in the Fulbrook Centre which is attached to the Churchill Hospital. Mentally ill patients are treated there. The doctors, nurses, the occupational and physiotherapists are a very dedicated group and I have nothing but praise for them. They were unfailingly kind and caring towards all the patients in the ward. So too is the follow-up community care excellent. It would be a tragedy indeed if such a facility were to be closed owing to financial problems.
