SECTION 1 side Plough A produced the upset of the week by defeating Premier leaders White House 2-1 on their own patch in the Greene King Oxford & District League.

Pip Goulding led the way with 13 dolls (4-5-4) in the leg scores of 27-25, 25-28, 27-24.

Mick Berry was top dog for White House with 3-6-3.

Lee Thompson and John Bailey were in exceptional form for Three Pigeons and Cowley Workers respectively with 14 dolls.

But it was the Pigeons who sent the Workers packing with an easy 3-0 victory in Section 1.

Their leg scores of 25-29-31 were too much for Workers who replied with 21-22-17.

Squire Bassett's Paul Sawyer also clanged off 14 dolls (4-5-5), but it wasn't enough to prevent them losing 2-1 at Garsington Sports.

Bassett lost the first leg 23-21, but came back well in the second to claim it 30-27.

They could do nothing in the decider, ending up with 24 after Sportsmen set 31.

Roger Goodall and Tommy Recht were joint top-scorers for Garsington with a dozen dolls apiece.

In Section 4, only two dolls separated Golden Ball B and Fairview in a contest that could have gone either way.

Fairview took the first leg 14-12 and the second was tied 16-16 with Golden Ball winning out on three sticks.

The final leg was also tied 17-17, but this time Fairview took it and the match 2-1. Glyn Millard top-scored with 10 dolls.

Ashton Club had a fine 3-0 win at home to Prince Of Wales in Section 7.

They won all three legs 10-9, 18-11, 17-10. Martin Wanless threw well for his 10 dolls (2-4-4).

Shelley Arms were desperately unlucky in their Section 8 clash at home to Red Lion Islip.

They lost the first two legs by the odd doll 11-12, 15-16, but got a deserved consolation point, taking the third on three sticks after tying 13-13.

Shelley's Graham Moon and Red Lion's Neil Brock both hit nine dolls.

There was some high scoring by Section 9 team Brill Sports Club as they clanged off 18-17-15 to claim maximum points against Cherwell Club.

Cherwell responded well in the first leg with 16, but fell apart after that with scores of eight and six.

Brill's Ian Houghton hit an impressive 12 dolls (2-5-5).

Cavalier continue to move up the table in Section 11 after taking all three legs at home to Priory A.

Their scores of 11-13-17 proved too strong for Priory, who replied with 8-10-6. Skipper Ashley Rowles led the way with eight dolls.

It was a bad night for Priory as their B team crashed at home to Section 12 leaders Queens Head 3-0.

Queens ran out worthy winners 14-6, 14-7, 16-7. Dean Fitzgerald threw well for his 10 dolls (2-3-5).

Kings Arms Ladies continue to pick up vital points, this time with a thrilling 3-0 win at home to Red Lion B, Brill.

They took the first leg on three sticks after tying 7-7 and then edged the next two 8-5, 9-6.
