Drivers are being warned they face delays in Cowley due to resurfacing work taking place.
Work started on Wednesday to resurface the carriageway in Oxford Road, near the police station, and work will finish near the junction with Marsh Road.
Traffic is being reduced to one lane, with the use of STOP/GO boards, and the work is expected to finish by the beginning of July.
Drivers are being warned that there will be delays on Cowley Road as a result of the work.
Similar work is also being carried out at the Glanville Road junction, at the beginning of July, and in Old Road, on July 6 and 7.
Further resurfacing work is also expected to take place in the near future between Gypsy Lane and Churchill Drive.
David Robertson, the county council's cabinet member for transport, said the work in Oxford Road was being carried out due to "ponding" when rain water failed to drain away properly.
He added: "For some reason there has been water retention and that causes problems with the surface."
