BANBURY discus thrower Perriss Wilkins made a winning return to competitive action when he turned out for Oxfordshire against a university team at Iffley Road.
Wilkins, who was returning from a four-year drugs ban, was a comfortable winner, launching the discus 53.01m in the third of four rounds.
It was, by a considerable margin, the best throw of the evening, with Oxford City's Paul Kelsey finishing second but 12 metres adrift.
He followed this up with third place in the South of England Championships over the weekend with a throw of 50.60.
Meanwhile, Abingdon Amblers' Jonny Lodowski has one eye on the World Junior Championships in Beijing in August after a stunning performance at Crystal Palace.
Lodowski won a bronze medal in the under 20 men's 400m hurdles, earning him an invitation to Great Britain's world junior trials, which are combined with the AAA Under 20/23 Championships, at Bedford on July 22.
The youngster won his heat on Saturday in 55.4secs, before clocking a personal best of 54.59 to finish third in Sunday's final.
Oxford City triple jumper Nathan Douglas has been named in the Norwich Union Great Britain team for next week's SPAR European Cup.
