The latest Audi V8 engine with advanced FSI direct petrol injection technology transfers from the acclaimed Q7 quattro SUV to four A6 and A8 models. Priced from £44,475, the new A6 4.2 FSI quattro Saloon and Avant variants are available to order, as are the standard and long wheel base A8 4.2 FSI quattros, priced from £58,305 on the road.
Deliveries of all models to UK customers are due to start in July. Fresh from its debut in the Q7 quattro SUV and A6 allroad quattro, the new 350 horsepower, 4.2-litre FSI engine replaces the 4.2-litre, 335 horsepower unit that has powered A6 and A8 models since launch. It delivers a maximum of 350 horsepower at 6,800rpm, enabling A6 4.2 FSI quattro models to accelerate from rest to 62mph in 5.9 seconds, A8 4.2 FSI quattros to go the distance in 6.1 seconds and all versions to reach a governed top speed of 155mph.
