DOROTHY Collett has died a month before her 104th birthday.
Mrs Collett, known to her friends and family as Dolly, marked her 103rd birthday last summer with a piece of cake and a beer shandy.
She died at Marston Court residential home in Marston Road, Oxford.
Mrs Collett was born in St Clement's and had lived in Oxford all her life, apart from four months when her family moved to Thame.
She attended St Barnabas School after her parents moved to Jericho and later married Horace Collett at St Barnabas Church.
Her husband was from Wolvercote and spent his working career at the paper mill.
Mrs Collett, a great grandmother, worked as a cake maker at Fuller's cake shop in Cornmarket Street.
She said on her 103rd birthday: "I have always worked hard. It has kept me all right."
She leaves a daughter, Verona Newbold, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The funeral service took place at Oxford Crematorium on Monday.
