International rivalries were put aside in one Oxfordshire house last night where Swedish and English fans sat down together to watch the big match.
At Swede Claes Winkler's home in Kennington, he watched the game with his wife Jayne, their son Callum, 15, and daughter Holly, 12, and five of his fellow countrymen, 14 English guests and a South African.
Seconds after Sweden struck with a late equaliser to snatch a 2-2 draw, Mr Winkler said: "We all watched it in a friendly manner.
"We don't take it that seriously. It was all a craic."
Turning to the game, he said: "I thought England would win 3-1, because they were all over us in the first half.
"But Sweden came back well. There were a few little strange decisions, like the hand ball in the box. But overall I thought it was a fair result.
"I'll be very surprised if Sweden score any goals against Germany."
Mr Winkler, who was brought up in Gothenburg and runs Cumnor-basd Swedemade Kitchens, added: "If England played like they played in the first half, they can take any team on, but I don't want to say how bad they played in the second half, because I don't want to lose any friends."
To add to the Scandinavain flavour of the evening, the Winklers treated their guests to some traditional Swedish cuisine.
