Demand for Oxford Loyal wristbands is so high that stocks are almost exhausted.
It seems everyone wants a yellow band on their arm, with some fans trawling across town to find one.
The bands were launched last week by Oxford United chairman Nick Merry, who said they were a perfect way for fans to show support for the U's after the disappointment of relegation from the Football League.
Profits from the sale of the bands, which cost £1 will be split between the Oxford Children's Hospital Campaign and United's youth development squad.
Tom Mitchell, Oxford Mail publishing manager, said: "We've ordered another 1,000 bands as they've sold so well. We never realised they would be so popular, but it's great to see."
Almost 2,000 have been sold. Bands are on sale at: the Oxford Mail' head office in Osney Mead; our district offices in Banbury, Bicester and Witney; United's club shop at the stadium; the Oxford Mail pitch in St Ebbe's; Rose Hill Post Office, Rose Hill; Spar, Dunnock Way, Greater Leys; Box of Delights, Shipton Road, Woodstock; Martin's newsagent at John Radcliffe Hospital; Delteys, Blackbird Leys Road; Uno Stores, Cowley; Acorn News, St Nicholas, Littlemore; Risinghurst Post Office.
