DISCUS thrower Connor Sugden and javelin ace Rhodri Edwards starred at the Oxfordshire Schools' Track & Field Championships at Tilsley Park, Abingdon.
oThey both triumphed in the under 15 boys competition, with Sugden (South) hurling the discus a mighty 40.31m, while Edwards (City) launched the javelin an impressive 45.73m.
Philippe Essink (North) was in cracking form on the track, recording a double success in the 400m and 800m in 54.6secs and 2mins 11.2secs respectively.
In the under 17 boys competition, Luke Chown (Vale) made good use of the favourable conditions to post a sprint double.
He stormed home to take the 100m in 11.5 and then added the 200m in 23.0.
Will Stinton (Vale) shone in the field events, winning the shot with 12.27m and the javelin with 44.79m.
In the under 19 boys' competition, Sam Hook (North) was the sprint king, taking the 100m in 11.6 and the 200m in 23.1.
Multi-talented Lucy Boggis (North) was the only athlete to post a hat-trick of wins.
Competing in the under 19 girls section, the dual English Schools javelin gold medallist won her specialist event with a throw of 35.73m.
She also took the 200m in 27.1 and the hurdles in 14.5.
Lauren Tolmie (Vale) notched a double in the 400m and 800m in 60.6 and 2.25.5 respectively.
Stacey Middleton (North) shone in the under 17 girls' competition, taking the hurdles in 12.8 and the triple jump with 10.63m.
Notable winners in the under 15 girls' competition were Melissa Hawtin (North) and Bea Swords (City), who both represented England in the British Schools International Cross Country at Stowe School in April.
Swords romped home in the 800m in 2.22.7, while Hawtin left her rivals trailing in the 1500m to triumph in 4.54.5.
Oxon's leading athletes now go on to the English Schools Sainsbury's Track & Field Championships at Gateshead Stadium on Friday, July 7 and Saturday, July 8.
