The tennis obituaries for Oxfordshire's Tim Henman have been written prematurely, judging by his bullish attitude going into this year's Wimbledon.
After a spirited showing at Queens, where he went out to the evntual winner, Leyton Hewitt, Henman is champing at the bit to get started at his old stamping ground in south west London.
Those who wrote him off and hailed Andy Murray as the new tennis messiah may be eating a large does of humble pie with their strawberries and cream this year.
While the Scottish prodigy looks like a little boy lost after parting company with his coach, Henman appears to be out to prove a point in what could be his last Wimbledon.
Whether he reaches the final or not, Henman is a credit to his sport and to his country. So enjoy him while you can.
The day he walks off centre court for the last time will be a sad one indeed.
