With only a week to go before Elton John comes to Oxford's Kassam Stadium there are still 3,000 tickets to be sold.
Bosses at the Kassam say they fear many people had just assumed the concert was sold out so the box office has been receiving less calls.
But of the 18,000 tickets which originally went on sale, about 15,000 have already been sold, and tickets, at prices ranging from £40 to £80, are still up for grabs for the gig on Saturday, June 24.
John Angus, operations director at the Kassam, said: "People have just assumed that the concert is sold out.
"They think because it's Elton John it must be a sell-out when in actual fact, because we have a larger capacity than most stadia, we still have 3,000 tickets available.
"There are hundreds of Elton John fans out there who still have an opportunity to see him perform, so we're urging them to snap up the last remaining tickets.
"It promises to be an absolutely fantastic evening, which we've all been looking forward to for some time."
About 12,000 of the tickets already sold have been bought by Oxfordshire residents, which means Mr Angus and his team have had to come up with some robust transport plans.
A car parking and shuttle bus service has been set up with about 3,000 parking spaces across the city.
Concertgoers are being urged to buy tickets, at £7 per car, before the concert.
They will then be issued with shuttle bus passes which will allow them to travel direct to the stadium.
Parking spaces have been allocated at the following places: Seacourt Park and Ride; Redbridge Park and Ride; Unipart car park; Horspath Recreation Ground; Headington Hill car park (Oxford Brookes campus on Headington Road) and the Oxford Greyhound Stadium. Shuttle buses will go from each of these destinations every five minutes between 2.30pm and 5.30pm, with the last bus leaving for the stadium at 5.30pm.
Shuttle buses will also be running from Oxford railway station, stopping at Castle Street before heading to the Kassam. Park and ride tickets bought on the day will be £10 per car.
Mr Angus said no car parking would be available at the stadium on the day, but a limited number of spaces, price £10, can be booked beforehand.
