A FOLK musician who played until she was 93 has died.
Ruth Rock, who lived in Kennington most of her life, died on May 10, after a 70-year musical career.
She was well known in the county and played for the Third Friday Club from when it started in 1941, right up until April this year.
She also played regularly at the Headington Quarry Club on a Thursday night.
She married Frederick in 1942 and the couple had three children, Isobel and twins Christine and Christopher.
John Graham, chairman of the Oxfordshire Folk Association, said: "She taught many aspiring musicians with warmth and good humour."
Her funeral was held in Holy Trinity Church on May 30, and there was a gathering afterwards at the Headington Quarry Club.
