Police worker Rachel Williams will look good enough to eat as she strides out in her bra for a midnight walk in aid of a breast cancer charity.

She has covered her underwear in sweets ready to strip off her top and join thousands of women who will walk 13 miles in Edinburgh wearing their bras for the Playtex MoonWalk.

Mrs Williams, 32, a business and finance administrator for Thames Valley Police in Abingdon, has been busy raising sponsorship money in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer ahead of the walk on Saturday, June 24.

On Wednesday, June 21, she will hold a charity auction at The Beehive pub, in Carterton, with items ranging from mugs to designer sunglasses donated by Carterton and Witney businesses.

She will fly to the Scottish capital with her husband Paul, a RAF electrical engineer based at RAF Brize Norton, who will be helping at the event.

Mrs Williams, who has three children, Kieran, 13, Kate, six, and one-year-old Sean, said: "One of the main reasons I'm doing this is that my father recently had prostrate cancer. I know it's a different form of cancer, but when I looked into what I could do to help I was shocked by the figures about breast cancer, which show 1,000 women are diagnosed with it every month.

"It could easily be me. I thought if I do something now, it will put money in the pot to help with research."

Mrs Williams has sold about 250 tickets for the auction, which starts at 7.30pm, but there are still spaces. Entry costs £1 and tickets are available from the pub, in Black Bourton Road To sponsor Mrs Williams, call her on 07739 506617.
