ROBIN Ejsmond-Frey has been elected as the new Oxford University president, writes Mike Rosewell.
Ejsmond-Frey, 20, learnt his rowing at St Paul's School, London, achieving a GB Junior vest, before coming to Oriel and rowing in the 2005 Isis crew and this year's Oxford Blue boat.
His family have a strong rowing tradition, his mother having captained Trinity BC at Oxford, while his father rowed at Fitzwilliam, Cambridge.
Meanwhile, Oxford Brookes and Osiris, the Oxford women's Boat Race squad, were successful at the multi-lane Metropolitan Regatta held at Eton's Dorney course last weekend.
On Saturday, Brookes achieved a hat-trick, with wins in the men's elite and senior 1 eights, as well as the women's senior 2 quad sculls.
Osiris had two crews in the women's senior 3 eights, the A boat taking the trophy.
Osiris achieved two more wins on Sunday in the senior 3 eights again, and in the senior 2 coxed fours.
Brookes, meanwhile, took the senior 2 men's eights.
The results were a perfect filip with Henley Women's Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta approaching.
