Sir, I happened to be out of the country when the judgement of the House of Lords in the Trap Grounds town green case was reported in your edition of May 26. This, therefore, is my first opportunity to correct an inaccurate statement contained in the report. The judges in the House of Lords confirmed that there is no legal impediment to the registration of the Trap Grounds as a town green. There is no need for the Friends of the Trap Grounds to submit a fresh claim. We urge the county council to respect the decision of the Lords and to register the land without further delay or public expense.
Catherine Robinson, Secretary, The Friends of the Trap Grounds, Oxford
