TETSWORTH'S Hyron Shallow began the season with a bang as he crashed an unbeaten 213 in his side's 93-run victory at Horley in Division 1, writes Kieren Bushnell.

In a match reduced to 35 overs a side due to rain, Tetsworth rattled up a massive 330-2, with Shallow in destructive form.

In reply, David Taylor hit 62 and Nick Tarrant 54 as Horley were bowled out for 237.

Witney Swifts found the pitch too hot to handle as they crashed to a five-wicket defeat at home to Great Horwood.

Swifts were sent crashing to 86 all out, Martin McStraw taking 4-22 and Simon Ridgway 3-38.

In reply, Omar Hussain claimed all five wickets, but Horwood eased home at 87-5.

Richard Tredwell made a cracking start to the season as he claimed a hat-trick and hit 50 in Westbury's eight-wicket victory at home to Twyford.

Batting first, Twyford were restricted to 140-9, thanks to Tredwell's 3-29.

Westbury made best use of a drying wicket to ease home at 141-2.

Tredwell's half-century and Mark Styles's 41 seeing them to victory.

In Division 2, Brill got off to a winning start as they defeated relegated Garsington by 48 runs.

Hugh Simmons hit 41 in Brill's 139-8, then Ifihar Shah (4-13) and Darren Kavanagh (4-26) rattled through Garsington's batting as they slumped to 91 all out.

Eynsham's first game on their new ground ended in a six-wicket defeat against Marcham.

They were rolled over for 95 after the rain, Andy Chalmers taking 3-34. Matt Launchbury then hit an unbeaten 35 as Marcham cruised in.
