Now don't get me wrong, I don't always look ruff but, living in rural Oxfordshire, I like to jump in the odd stream and roll in the odd cowpat or two I mean, who doesn't?

A quick wash and blow dry every few months is usually the extent of my beauty routine and, frankly, that suits me fine. Even so, I was pretty excited when the humans told me they were taking me to a place called London, for a Posh Pooch Weekend.

Getting to London took a while although my master seemed pleased with the journey time. There were big, loud cars everywhere, many of them so close to the ground you would have never got them across a cattle grid.

The master was pretty excited though and said he'd never seen so many 'Porsches' (nor me I'm more of a Massey Ferguson kind of girl).

When we got to the place we were staying The Cadogan Hotel in Sloane Street men in suits welcomed us and, after petting me, said they hoped we'd have a good time at the Ka-Duggan'.

The humans seemed pretty excited about our room, which they said was 'junior' and 'sweet' because it had a sitting room with sofas too.

And there was a big, leather contraption in the corner, which turned out to be my bed fancy!

The humans also seemed interested to know that someone called Lillie Langtry had lived at the hotel and a guy called Oscar Wilde had been arrested there scandalous!

After a run about and a spot of jumping on the massive bed, we popped back downstairs to meet someone called 'Andrew'.

Turns out he was from a posh pooch parlour in Chelsea called Pet Pavilion. My mistress apologised for the crusty cowpat on my face and then handed me over what on earth was going on?

Well, next thing I knew I was in the back of a big, posh car, winding our way through big, busy streets. Now, I've been in enough grooming parlours in my time, but Pet Pavilion is something else, let me tell you.

All mod cons a shop with all the latest gear and, of course, the pampering suite it's a bit like Macy's for mutts.

My pamperer for the afternoon turned out to be their top guy Dan Thomas. He's been in the grooming business for dogs' years and has coiffed some of the poshest pooches around and if he's good enough for them, he's good enough for me.

I had a hair wash in special organic, whitening shampoo, my coat and my nails were clipped, my teeth were cleaned and I even had a massage bliss!

And, in between all the treatments, there were rest stops, a chance for a run in the garden and some mineral water.

Time flew and before long we were back in his 'people carrier' en route to the hotel.

When we got back, the owners seemed very pleased and said I looked like a new dog. Cheek!

Turns out they had had a pretty good time too.

They told Andrew they'd been around the corner to a place called Knightsbridge and Harrods. Later, after a stroll in the garden opposite the hotel, we settled down in our rooms for the evening.

The humans ate big burgers and chips that a man brought on a table, with a posh cloth. And I had a munch on my parting gift from Pet Pavilion some yummy Carob, heart-shaped biscuits. Later we went for a quick look around the hotel.

The humans made oohing and aahing noises about the restaurant and the lounge/bar. But frankly, I was pretty disappointed by the lack of rabbits in London. There was nothing to chase whatsoever, and not a cowpat in sight.

Next day, when we left, the men in suits gave me another stroke and told us to have a good journey. The humans seemed happy and were still really pleased with my new haircut.

That evening, back in the fields near where I live, I decided that while I liked being a posh pooch, I'm really a country girl at heart. Who says I haven't got style!
