There have been countless stories in the Oxford Mail about the antics of various members of councils and committees in and around Oxford.
It may be that the land on which the Kassam Stadium was built was sold off too cheaply, there was definitely a mammoth overspend on the Cornmarket Street repaving project, then we read that £500 per week was spent for advice on running Temple Cowley swimming pool.
Those responsible should remember that they are employed by the people of Oxfordshire to spend tax money, gleaned from our pockets, in a wise and sensible manner and to enhance the lives of council taxpayers by their actions and decisions.
Alas, this does not appear to be the case. They appear to waste countless hours making decisions which are debatable to say the least.
When something goes wrong, which is all too often, no-one admits being at fault and they carry on regardless.
If these so-called experts worked in the private sector, they wouldn't last five minutes.
So remember, Mr Civil Servant, you work for me and I pay your wages, so could you get your act together and start to make some sensible decisions for a change?
My observations are endorsed by everyone I have spoken to, in the pub and on the street. Not one person has disagreed with me.
