NORTH Leigh's promotion hopes were dealt a crushing blow on Saturday as Bishops Cleeve scored twice in three minutes at Eynsham Park to secure the runners-up spot in the Premier Division.
The visitors ruthlessly punished North Leigh's earlier profligacy to take a swift 2-0 lead through James Bayliffe and James Vercesi.
North Leigh reduced the arrears when Simon Futcher fired home a free-kick, but they could not hit back.
Abingdon United, 3-1 winners against struggling Fairford on Saturday, confirmed the third promotion spot with a 3-0 win at relegated Henley on Tuesday night.
Anaclet Odhiambo, Mark Simms and Ryan Curtin were on target, while Nathan Woodley, Curtin and Odhiambo were the marksmen against Fairford, Champions Didcot eased home 4-0 against basement boys Henley.
The home side dominated throughout, and took the lead after 12 minutes through Ian Concannon.
Paul Powell fired home from 30 yards for No 2 and then Concannon and Jack King wrapped it up.
Witney United produced a vastly-improved display to come away from Almondsbury Tn with a 3-1 win thanks to goals from Danny Wise (2) and a cracker from Jamie Cook.
Abingdon Town made it four games unbeaten with a 2-2 draw against Slimbridge, Charlie Bough on target twice, while Carterton were 4-0 victors over Shortwood Utd thanks to James Mortimer-Jones (2), Mark Threlfall and Mark Odom.
