Work has started on a memorial garden to commemorate the lives of three teenagers killed in tragic circumstances.
Thousands of pounds for the garden have been raised by friends and family of Eastern Bypass crash victims Liam Hastings and Josh Bartlett, pupils at Oxford Community School, as well as fellow student Arash Ghorbani-Zarin, who was murdered in a so-called 'honour' killing in 2004.
Yesterday, workers from gardening company Slades gave up their time to prepare the soil.
At the weekend, the boys' families will help out to try to complete the garden in time for the first anniversary of the bypass crash on May 28. The crash also killed Peers School pupil Marshall Haynes, 13, and Oxford Brookes student Howard Hillsdon.
Special needs coordinator Sue Watkins, who is organising the garden project, and is pictured front, with landscapers Jon Hudson, left, and Peran Treloar, said: "It is a place of reflection, a place of memory and a place where students can go.
"It is a mark of respect for the boys and it is in the centre of the school so lots of students walk around there as well."
The garden will also be maintained by families and friends.
