When a passer-by found this lost-looking tabby cat wandering the streets around Bicester, he seemed just like any other stray moggy.
But when the cat was scanned for a microchip by RSPCA staff, they discovered he had come on a much longer journey than they first realised - all the way from Spain.
Nicknamed Moses by animal rescue staff, the tabby cat was found by a member of the public in Elderfield Road, Caversfield, near Bicester, on Good Friday, who contacted the RSPCA.
Staff at the charity's Blackberry Farm Animal Centre, near Aylesbury, where Moses is now staying, said he was in very good condition.
They think Moses, who is thought to be middle-aged and has been neutered, may have just become separated from caring owners - rather than cruelly abandoned.
Anyone with information about Moses' owners should call the RSPCA centre on 0870 0101 852.
